A watercolour stretching board comprising: a frame consisting of 12mm marine (waterproof) plywood, with a routed V-groove formed around the inside perimeter; an infill consisting of 4mm plastic foam core panel adhered to the frame, with a bull-nosed edge formed thereon coinciding with the edge of the V-groove; angle restraints consisting of aluminium extrusions measuring 25mm x 9mm x 1.6mm thick; and hinged clamps consisting of pressed channels of 1.2mm thick stainless steel pivotally hinged to the frame. Watercolour paper is inserted so that it rolls over the bull-nosed edge of the infill down into the V-groove to be stretched and restrained by the wedging action of the angle restraints held in the V-groove by the hinged clamps. When work on the paper has finished and it has dried tight, the hinged clamps are pivoted out, the angle restraints are removed and the paper is carefully removed from the V-groove. m O~CO) )D A) z 0 |
