PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved technique for stably holding a fishing rod including a reel seat.SOLUTION: A fishing rod includes: a fishing rod body constituted by joining a base rod member 3 and a tip rod member 4 in a rod axis direction; and a reel seat. The reel seat includes: a front hood 12 provided on the outer peripheral surface of the base rod member 3, for receiving one end of a leg part of a fishing reel; and a rear hood 18 provided on the outer peripheral surface of the base rod member 3, for receiving the other end of the leg part of the fishing reel. The fishing rod further includes a spacer part 22 provided in front of the front hood 12 on the outer peripheral surface of the base rod member 3 and having a smaller diameter than that of a front end 12a of the front hood 12. When the reel seat is gripped so that the reel is positioned on a lower side in a state of receiving the reel in the front hood 12 and the rear hood 18, the spacer part 22 is positioned near the first joint of a thumb extended towards the front of a hand gripping the reel seat. |
