PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that eliminates for an engineer to go to a customer in order to adjust various devices in an image forming apparatus, that maintains the continuous use of the apparatus by a user at a maximum, and that makes it possible to adjust the various devices without adding a separate configuration.SOLUTION: With timing set arbitrarily except the timing of image formation, one of laser beams is emitted to the surface of an image carrier by exposure means, thereby forming a plurality of reference electrostatic latent images each of which is formed from one line.The reference electrostatic latent images, each of which has been formed from one line, are developed by developing means as second reference toner images. Second attached toner amount control means is provided for optimally controller an amount of attached toner of a toner image developed by the developing means, based on the amount of attached toner of each second reference toner image detected by toner attachment amount detecting means. |
