PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor capable of detecting gases in a short time and a device utilizing the gas sensor.SOLUTION: There is used a gas sensor 104 which includes: a porous silica continuum obtained by subjecting reaction solution containing silica as a main component to sol-gel transition accompanied by phase separation; a dyestuff material positioned between the layers of the porous silica continuum; and a moisture retaining material positioned between the layers of the porous silica continuum. Also, there is used a gas detector 100 which includes: a gas introduction part; the gas sensor 104 in which a gas is introduced to the surface thereof; an LED light source part 103 for irradiating the gas sensor 104 with light; and a photosensor 102 for detecting light reflected by the sensor 104. |
