PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a printer that prevents deterioration in printing quality on a recording sheet having a curl.SOLUTION: A printer 1 that causes an ink discharge head 3 to scan in a direction perpendicular to a transportation direction of a recording sheet 15a transported on a platen 21 and performs printing comprises: transportation means 100 for transporting the recording sheet 15a; a laser displacement meter 30 for continuously detecting a distance h from a discharge surface 3a of the ink discharge head 3 to a recording surface 15b of the recording sheet 15a at given intervals; a leading end position detection sensor 17 for detecting a leading end position of the recording sheet 15a; a profile generation section 31 for generating a profile representing a relation between a recording sheet feed amount L from the leading end position of the recording sheet 15a and the distance h; and a discharge timing correction section 34 for determining ink discharge timing on the basis of the profile. On this account, deterioration in printing quality can be prevented even when the recording sheet 15a is curled. |
