The invention concerns a peat-cutting machine comprising a cutting blade 13 which is provided with notch-shaped releasable cutters 16a, 16b, and the cutters 16a, 16b in question, which are provided with a curved surface 18, are filled by rotation, the clump of turf formed being tightly packed. Here, the direction of and casting sector for the clumps of peat in question towards a peat screw or press is exact and the peat loss is minimal. Since the cutter is filled by rotation, rolling, the stream of peat is continuous and the peat is not packed together at the cutter mouth, and instead the cutter mouth retains a good cutting performance.
