The present invention relates to a metal lattice structure with a triangular cross-section for use in roofing systems where wide bays between the main structures need to be bridged. The lattice structure according to the present invention comprises a plurality of profiled or folded metal plates (30) connected to at least one upper chord (20) and to at least one lower chord (10), the lower chord (10) being formed by the union of at least two upper chords (20). Preferably, the lower chord (10) is formed by the union of two upper chords (20) with mirror symmetry, this union being achieved by securing central portions (20a) provided in the upper chords (20a).
