Wire retention connector system

An electrical connector having a connector housing (400) having at least one opening (600) configured to receive a wire along an opening center axis (603) and a wire retention member (1000) with a wire guide (1101), a slot (1701) of the wire retention member (1000) configured to allow a wire received in the opening (600) to be removed from the wire guide (1101) through the slot (1701) to provide a joggle or bend in the wire to provide resistance to pulling and rotation of the wire. The connector may also include a side guard (1801) configured to permit passage of the wire out of the wire guide (1101) but substantially prevent reinsertion. The wire retention member (1000) may be T-shaped, extend from the connector housing (400), and be resistant so as to allow the wire to snap out of the wire guide (1101).
