<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that improves the accuracy, when grasping the prescribed position of a belt from patches, while suppressing the consumption of developer. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with: an image forming means for forming a developer image; a transporting belt 38 for transporting the formed developer image; an applying means for applying high voltage to a transporting belt 38, in order to detect developer images for detection (patches: Pt1, Pt2) that are formed on the transfer belt 38 by the image forming means; a detection means for detecting the voltage value for the high voltage or the current value by applying of the high voltage; and a control means for detecting the developer images for detection, based on determination of whether the detected voltage value or the current value exceeds a prescribed value and carrying out image formation control, based on the detected result. The developer images for detection (Pt1, Pt2) are formed into a configuration, having a portion where the length of transporting direction X of the same is smaller than the length L1 in the transport direction of a section in contact with the transport belt 38 with the applying means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT</p> |
