<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for supporting a vehicle operation which appropriately perform support control while giving a driver a sense of control without a sense of incongruity. <P>SOLUTION: A future position of one's own vehicle after a set time is predicted. As the predicted future position of the vehicle is located more outside when viewed from the center of the vehicle's running lane, than a control start position that is a preset lateral position in a lane width direction, the vehicle is controlled by applying a larger yaw moment toward the center of the vehicle's running lane.
