<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wavelength dispersion compensation optical fiber capable of compensating a NZ-DSF (non-zero dispersion shifted fiber) type-line optical fiber having a small wavelength dispersion slope with a sufficiently large ratio of wavelength dispersion to a wavelength dispersion slope and a small wavelength dispersion slope. <P>SOLUTION: In a multi-band wavelength dispersion compensation optical fiber, a refractive index distribution continuously includes, from a center toward a periphery, a center section having a maximum refractive index larger than a refractive index of a clad, a section buried with a minimum refractive index smaller than the refractive index of the clad, an annular section having a maximum refractive index larger than the refractive index of the clad and smaller than the maximum refractive index in the center section, and the clad having a constant refractive index. When a wavelength is 1550 nm, wavelength dispersion is less than -8 ps/nm/km, an absolute value of a ratio of the wavelength dispersion to the wavelength dispersion slope is larger than 750 nm, and a mode diameter is larger than 5μm. When a wavelength is 1625 nm, a bent loss for a radius 10 mm is less than 400 dB/m. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
