<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus, an option device, an environment setting program and an environment setting method that efficiently recover environment settings. <P>SOLUTION: An option part 12 is removably connected to a body part 11 via interface parts 11a and 12a. The option part 12 includes an environmental information storage part 12b for storing environmental information setting the operating environment of the information processing apparatus 10. An environmental information saving part 11b obtains environmental information about the information processing apparatus 10 and stores it in the environmental information storage part 12b at a first timing.
