<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device and a printing method capable of efficiently forming a print pattern of no distortion by holding a target printed base material in a state of no influence of distortion caused by tension of the target printed base material when data is printed on the wound flexible target printed base material. <P>SOLUTION: The printing device includes a printing finisher's slab 71 on which a flexible target printed base material is placed, an adsorption holding mechanism disposed in the printing finisher's slab 71, a smoothing roller 72, and an ink transfer means for transferring pattern-like printing ink onto the target printed base material. The smoothing roller 72 travels while pressing the target printed base material to the printing finisher's slab 71. The adsorption holding mechanism is divided into two or more areas 71a and 71b which are independently adsorbed. These areas 71a and 71b are arrayed in the traveling direction of the smoothing roller 72. The smoothing roller 72 travels on the target printed base material placed on the printing finisher's slab 71, and the adsorption holding mechanism is sequentially adsorbed in synchronization therewith to hold the target printed base material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
