An apparatus and a method for automatically controlling sensitivity of a touch sensor of a mobile terminal are provided to improve user convenience such that a key input operation is not performed when a mobile terminal is carried around, and a key input is performed through a touching operation when the mobile terminal is mounted in a vehicle. A controller senses whether a mobile terminal is mounted in a vehicle cradle(301). If the mobile terminal is mounted in the vehicle cradle, the controller checks a current sensitivity of a touch sensor(303) and automatically changes the sensitivity of the touch sensor(305). The controller senses whether the mobile terminal is released from the cradle(307). If the mobile terminal is released from the cradle and changed to a mobile mode, the controller checks the sensitivity of the touch sensor(309) and controls it so as to be suitable for the pre-set mobile mode(311). |
