A system for providing IPTV(Internet Protocol Television) newspaper information and a transceiving method thereof capable of a customized newspaper service are provided to provide a news, news on demand, a section news, scrap and my-page function to a user. A data broadcast system includes a data manager for receiving newspaper contents including a text and an image which is periodically updated from a newspaper contents provider. Data broadcasting including a data broadcast system is the newspaper contents. A PSI(Program Specific Information) generator generates the PSI information about a newspaper channel. A compression multiplex system(110) multiplexes data broadcasting including newspaper contents and PSI information about the newspaper channel, converts a multiplexed stream into IP(Internet Protocol) packet and outputs the IP packet. A network switch system(170) transmits the transport stream which IP received from the compression multiplex systems is packetized. A return path server system is connected to the user terminal and return channel through the IP network. |
