[Class 99 (ii)] A metal flexible pipe, Fig. 3, formed by a helical band with a straight or convex centre portion l<1> and interlocking bead ends 2, 3 has its beads, which overlap to form a double thickness, welded and the height of said beads is 2 mm. plus 1/50 of the clear flow diameter of the tube and the distance between said beads must be greater than the width of the beads. In a modification, Fig. 2, the bands are extended and bent radially outwards to form the cooling fins 4. The semicircular beads shown may be replaced. by beads of V- or U-shaped cross-section. |
