PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game machine allowing a player to easily recognize termination of a symbol variation game when the variation time for the symbol variation game is reduced. SOLUTION: A main controlling CPU preferentially displays a second variation game rather than a first variation game. The main controlling CPU determines whether or not to generate a variation time shortened state controlled so that the variation time for a miss variation pattern leading to a miss is reduced and that entrance of a game ball into a second starting winning hole is easy. If the variation time shortened state is generated when the result of variation is a miss, the main controlling CPU determines a variation pattern for the miss variation to reduce the variation time shorter than when the variation time shortened state is not generated. The main controlling CPU sets a variation time interval between variation game rounds so that the interval in the second variation game is longer than in the first variation game.
