PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent mixing of bubbles or oozing of an adhesive to the outside of an adhering surface after bonding, concerning a method of manufacturing a display device wherein a transparent body such as a touch panel is bonded to a substrate of a display panel. SOLUTION: On the substrate before applying the adhesive, cleaning processing by oxygen plasma or the like, or thin film formation by sputtering is carried out. In this process, wettability of the adhesive is improved selectively by covering part of a panel with a mask. When the mask is taken off and the adhesive is applied to the panel, the adhesive can be spread only in a position with good wettability, preventing mixing of bubbles and oozing of the adhesive after bonding.
