The present invention relates to a power-saving method used for mobile communication device in wireless communication network. Under standby status, the mobile communication device detects the power of the wireless signal received from the base station. When the power is less than a predetermined power threshold or the power variation slope is higher than another predetermined threshold, the mobile communication device will detect again the power of the wireless signal it received after delaying a predetermined time. After that, the mobile communication device will judge whether the power of the wireless signal it received is higher than the predetermined power threshold, if not, execute the preset actions like the cancellation of hibernation mechanism of the mobile communication device or researching a new base station. By the application of the mechanism, unnecessary actions executed by the mobile communication device due to the transient communication obstacle are decreased so as to achieve the power-saving effect.
