PURPOSE:To sense automatically the effective image coverage of a video image data and set the sensed range as a printing coverage. CONSTITUTION:A video printer is provided with a printing coverage start button and a printing coverage setting button on an operation panel 400, and further provided with a system controller 314, a RAM 324 and the like for sensing and setting automatically the effective image coverage of the video image data. The effective coverage is sensed automatically by the system controller 314 using the RAM 324 corresponding to the push-down of a start button, and the sensed coverage is sensed in white frame by an input image and a video synthesizing circuit 312 and displayed on a monitor. Then a position data in the frame display on the monitor is set and stored as the printing coverage corresponding to the push-down of the setting button, after which the input image is cut and printing is carried in the set coverage. |
