The appliance has a storage container (19) for temporarily storing a cleaning liquid, and a fluid line (23) for connecting a wash tub (1) with the storage container. A valve (26) is arranged in the fluid line, where the cleaning liquid flows through the valve in a flow direction in an open condition. The fluid line includes a dirt particle restraint device i.e. odor trap (59), provided upstream of the valve in the flow direction, where the restraint device receives dirt particle. A line section of the restraint device flows into the storage container.
