PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform ranking of a retrieval result, when a retrieval query is structured of a plurality of keywords and even if a retrieval target text has a structure like HTML or XML. SOLUTION: When performing the ranking of the retrieval result by use of proximity of a keyword group inside the input retrieval query in retrieval of a structure-equipped text set, a distance between the keywords is evaluated based on semantics of the text structure, the proximity between the keywords is obtained by use of the distance, relevance of a text to the retrieval query is evaluated based on an appearance frequency of the keyword inside the retrieval query in the whole text and an appearance frequency of the keyword inside the text, a document score is calculated from the proximity between the keywords and the relevance of the text, and the ranking of the retrieval result is performed.
