PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an insect pest-repellent agent which can be used to an insect pest which damages a shoot, the insect pest-repellent agent using an extract obtained from a plant raw material as an active component, wherein the plant raw material is derived from natural resources, is easily available since the resources in nature are relatively abundant, and is highly safe for human body. SOLUTION: An extract is extracted from the bidens plant, and an insect pest control agent which can be used to an insect pest which damages a shoot is derived by using the extract as an active component.
