<p>The automatic steering system controlling device (50) has a signal input (58a) receiving a target travel direction parameter prescribed by automatic vehicle control systems (52,54), and a storage device (58b) on which a correction factor is stored. A control device (58) is provided for determining a corrected target travel direction parameter using the correction factor and the prescribed target travel direction parameter. An evaluation device (72) receives an actual travel direction parameter determined by sensors (64,66) of the vehicle.
