The present invention relates to an overheat detecting apparatus using an optical fiber, which comprises: an expansion ring which has a center part of empty ring type and is formed with a material able to be expanded by external force; a housing for accommodating the expansion ring in an internal space; a deformation supporting part which is combined to support the expansion ring at both sides, and is installed in the housing in order to deform the expansion ring by being formed with a bimetal material having bending depending on temperature; a sensing unit having an optical fiber sensing part which has a rolled part rolled to be supported by the expansion ring by being inserted into the inside of the housing from the outside of the housing, and is drawn out of the housing, and is formed with one optical fiber; a light source for emitting a light through the optical fiber of the optical fiber sensing part; a light detector for detecting a light responding to the optical fiber sensing part; and an overheat judgment part for measuring overheat at the position, where the deformation supporting part is installed, from a signal outputted from the light detector. By the present invention, the overheat detecting apparatus using an optical fiber can have simple structure as using the optical fiber as it is, by using variation of optical attenuation rate due to the bending according to the temperature change of the rolled optical fiber.
