A side view light emitting device and an array comprising the same are provided to implement the illumination of white light having improved color reproducibility and color sensitivity by easily controlling an amount of light and an orientation angle toward a lateral front through a lens designing. A lateral-shaped package body(10) is mounted with a bottom surface. An opening section is formed at a lateral side perpendicular to the bottom surface of the package body. A light emitting diode chip is installed in the opening section to emit light in a lateral direction of the package body. A lens(40) is made of a transparent resin to cover the light emitting diode chip. The lens has a reflecting unit(43) and a slopped unit(42). The reflecting unit reflects the light emitted from the light emitting diode chip to the inside of the lens. The slopped unit is protruded at both sides of the reflecting unit to reflect the light emitted from the light emitting diode chip and emit the reflected light to a lateral front of the opening section. |
