Wheelchair comprising a frame with running wheels, an adjustable seat, a bearing mechanism which movably couples the seat to the frame, so that at least the person sitting in the wheelchair can be moved up and down. Between the frame and the seat there is a gas spring which comprises a cylinder and a piston rod which projects movably from the cylinder, which piston rod is pressed outwards by the pressure of a gas in the cylinder. The gas spring is located between a point on the seat and a point on the frame, which points move apart when the person sitting in the wheelchair moves downwards; that part of the gas spring which faces towards the frame is connected to the seat and that part of the gas spring which faces towards the seat is connected to the frame. |
