Disclosed are a system for downloading a file and a method for downloading file in a personal computer (PC). The method for downloading file in a PC comprises the following steps: calling a download webpage through a web browser; receiving a download command for an object file from a user; transmitting file information of the object file corresponding to the download commend to download window service; requesting peer information corresponding to the transmitted file information to a control server by the download window service; and downloading the object file from an internet data center or peer group based on the peer information transmitted from the control server.
