A method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving voice packet are provided to transceive auxiliary information bit for extending the artificial bandwidth of voice signal and decode improved signal by using auxiliary information bit and transceive supplementary information about audio signal in voice channel information without additional channel. A vocoder(310) and an adaptive equalizer(330) of a modem on a transmission side receives a digital voice or an audio input signal. The adaptive equalizer transmits filter factor to the auxiliary information bit inserter(320) as converting into auxiliary information bit. The auxiliary information bit inserter transmits voice packet to the modem on the transmission side by inserting auxiliary information bit into specific parameter voice packet. The adaptive equalizer calculates the filter factor necessary to correct coding distortion from the auxiliary information bit and outputs corrected signal by filtering decoded signal through the filter factor by a voice decoder. |
