A voice file play method and apparatus of an electronic device are provided to reproduce the silence period of a voice file recorded in the electronic device at the normal play speed always by inserting a marker to the silence period. A voice file recording method of an electronic device comprises a step of determining whether inputted signal period is a voice period or a silence period, and a step of inserting a specific marker into the starting point of the signal period determined as the silence period and storing the result. A voice file play method of the electronic device comprises a step of determining whether to change the play speed, a step of discriminating a silence period from a voice file, and a step of reproducing the other period except for the silence period at changed play speed. |
