The present invention relates to a cycloolefin polymer compound and a production method of the same, more specifically to a production method of a cycloolefin polymer compound which selectively removes a double bond contained in a hexagon ring of dicyclopentadiene and tricyclopentadiene, and polymerizes the same for preventing the side reaction and gellation generated from producing the cycloolefin polymer compound; and the cycloolefin polymer compound obtained by the production method.
