PURPOSE: A fuel supply system for a fuel pump is provided to supply enough fuel to a fuel pump without influence of low atmospheric pressure as fuel is pumped by an external gear and an internal gear. CONSTITUTION: A fuel supply system for a fuel pump comprises a start motor(10), a pinion gear(13), a first fuel flow hole(17), a second fuel flow hole(18), an external gear(15), a bypass line(20), a pump line(22), and a position control unit. The start motor comprises a first motor shaft(12) and a second motor shaft(14). The pinion gear is coupled with one side of the first motor shaft. The first fuel flow hole and the second fuel flow hole are formed in the second motor shaft. An external gear is coupled with the second motor shaft. The bypass line is selectively opened and closed by the first fuel flow hole or the second fuel flow hole. The pump line has an internal gear(16) and pumps the fuel. The position control unit controls the location of the start motor. |
