PURPOSE: To provide a cordless telephone system with which data such as an address directory or telephone numbers can be mutually exchanged between a hand set and a base unit while using an extension speaking function between the base unit and hand set of the cordless telephone system due to radio signals. CONSTITUTION: The radio signal transmitted from the hand set is received by an antenna 26 of the base unit, converted into a data signal by a radio signal processing part 24 and stored through a line selecting part 30 and a data selector 32 into a memory 20. Besides, the data signal stored in the memory 20 of the base unit 1 is passed through the data selector 32 and the line selecting part 30, converted into the radio signal by the radio signal processing part 24, transmitted from the antenna 26, received by the antenna of the hand set, stored in a memory inside the hand set and displayed on a display part.
