Installation for machining and/or assembling workpieces carried by generally rectangular pallets comprising self-orientable rolling means running on a floor, characterised in that each pallet (21) is equipped with devices or blocks (27) which act as a support for rotary entrainment means, with vertical axes, set in motion by a motor or geared motor (46) carried by the pallet and which interact singly or in groups, according to a multiplicity of combinations, with prestressed self-steering lateral guidance and bearing means partly secured to the floor (39) and intended to impose a straight or curved movement of the pallet, without play, according to a movement which retains or modifies, according to the bearance/guidance combination of the pallet, the spatial orientation of the latter during its changes in direction. <IMAGE> |
