METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF YIELD STRESS OF MATERIAL

A method for determination of the yield stress of materialincludes tension test of a cylindrical or flat sample with application of load acting along the axis of the test sample. The numerical value of the yield stressis determined by division of the load on sample that corresponds to manifestation of the yielding area on the tension diagram by the area of minimum cross section of the sample. The sample with continuously varying along the axis of the sample diameters (dimensions) of the cross sections is used.
