The compartment has a set of side modules (4), and a central module that comprise electrochemical cells, and a heat diffuser. A heat exchanger (10) is intended to exchange heat between the modules and ambient conditions. The heat exchanger is arranged on an external face of the compartment. A heat pipe (46) is placed on the outside of the heat exchanger, where the heat pipe is designed to be placed near an exhaust line (40) of an internal combustion engine. A protection sheet (14) is placed between the heat pipe and the exhaust line. An independent claim is also included for an electric or hybrid vehicle.
