METHOD FOR DETERMINATION OF THE VALUE OF LIMITING LOAD OF THIN WALL CYLINDRICAL SHELLS

A method for the determination of the value of limiting load for thin wall cylindrical shells is in the fact that a sample is made with testing it at the type of stressed state same to that coming to existence in the dangerous zone of the shell. The value of the maximal intensity of stresses in dangerous zone of the sample is calculated, and by that – the limiting load. Samples are produced and tested, with dimensions other than the dimensions of the first sample. With interpolation by the volume of dangerous zone maximal intensity of stresses for the shell is determined, this is used for calculation of the value of limiting load. The samples are in the form of the shell and produced by the method and in conditions same to those of the shell production.
