A method for restoring wheel pairs, wherein an electrode metal is deposited on a working surface of wheel, wherein surfacing is conducted around the entire perimeter of railway wheel simultaneously. The electrode is made in the form of sectors and it is fed into the liquid slag bath located between the wheel surface subject to surfacing and pans filling this space with weldable layer throughout its entire thickness.
