The present invention provides a protection device of an escalator, capable of detecting abnormal state of a passenger as early as possible and prompting the passenger necessarily. In the protection device of the escalator, a protective plate (4) is arranged between the escalator and a ceiling (3) or on an included angle part between two intersectant escalators, the protective plate (4) is provided with a video camera (6) and an image processing mechanism (8) used to detect abnormal ride of the passenger in advance according to the image of the video camera (6), when the passenger rides abnormally, prompting broadcast will be played or the escalator is stopped or stopped slowly. |
