PURPOSE: To achieve the miniaturization of the entire device without providing a toner box separately, to shorten a waste-toner carrying distance, and to simplify the mechanism of a waste-toner carrying part. CONSTITUTION: Printing stations 551-554, except exposure devices 581-584 and transfer rollers 601-604, are integrated as a process unit 64. Movable partitions 632-634 are disposed inside toner hoppers 622-624 provided for the developing units 592-594 of the printing stations 552-554, apart from the initial printing- station 551. Waste toner from the previous printing-station is carried and stored into a space on the upper part of the movable partition of the toner hopper of the following printing-station by means of carrying members 631, and each movable partition is moved down according to the amount of waste toner. |
