PURPOSE: To record a video signal of an object with a broader luminance distribution in comparison with that of a conventional device by providing plural image pickup means and a recording means storing all or part of plural video signals obtained for a signal storage time onto a prescribed recording medium. CONSTITUTION: An image of an object image light is formed onto a light receiving face of an image pickup element 2 through an image pickup optical system 1. The image pickup element 2 provides an output of a standard illuminance signal 11 as a 1st video signal read for a storage period of, e.g. 1/60sec and a high illuminance signal 12 as a 2nd video signal read for a storage period of 1/1000sec in two output signals whose signal charge storage periods differ. The standard illuminance signal 11 and the high illuminance signal 12 are amplified respectively by amplifiers 3, 4, given to signal processing circuits 5, 6, in which prescribed signal processing is conducted and converted into digital signals by A/D converters 7, 8. The digitized video information is recorded on a recording medium 10 through a recording circuit 9. |
