PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alumina sintered body capable of improving fracture toughness and thermal shock resistance, and a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: Out of all aluminum AlOcrystal grains in an alumina sintered body, an abundance ratio of aluminum AlOcrystal grains belonging to a crystal grain group having a major axis length included in a range of 22 μm or more and an aspect ratio of 2 or more is included in a range of 30% or more. The average pore diameter per one grain of pores in the aluminumOcrystal-grains belonging to the crystal grain group is 5 μm or less, and the average number per one grain of the existing pores is 15 or less. |
