PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver in which distortion of a signal can be suppressed effectively.SOLUTION: The receiver includes a low noise amplifier 10 which receives a high frequency signal and amplifies the high frequency signal, a tuner 20 for converting a high frequency signal thus amplified into an intermediate frequency signal, a demodulator 30 for converting the intermediate frequency signal thus received into a demodulation signal, and an automatic gain controller 40 outputting a gain control signal on the basis of the voltage level of the demodulation signal thus received. When the voltage level of the gain control signal is higher than a first reference voltage level, the low noise amplifier 10 is in a normal operation mode and amplifies the high frequency signal. When the voltage level of the gain control signal is lower than a second reference voltage level, the low noise amplifier 10 is in a low gain operation mode and reduces the high frequency signal. The second reference voltage level is lower than the first reference voltage level. |
