<p>The method involves detecting a position and dimensions of objects (36, 38, 40, 42) in an environment (44) of a motor vehicle (10). Checking is made whether a line of sight connection is obstructed by the objects based on relative positions to be determined of satellites (24, 26, 28), the positions and dimensions of the objects, and the position and an alignment of the motor vehicle. The position of the motor vehicle is determined based on signals (30, 32, 34) to be received and under consideration of the checking of the line of sight connection between the satellites and a receiver. An independent claim is also included for a position determination system for a motor vehicle to receive signals transmitted through satellites.</p> |
