摘要 <p>Catalytic direct oxidn. of propylene to propylene oxide (I) on an epoxidation catalyst is carried out above the critical point of C3H6, i.e. at above 91.6 [deg]C and above 46.1 bar. Pref. reaction is at 100-300, esp. 180-220[deg]C and 50-250, esp. 100-120 bar, with a residence time of 5-5000, esp. 30-300 s. The feed contains 20-90, esp. 30-70 vol.% C3H6 and 2-30, esp. 5-15 vol.% O2, rest inert gas, e.g. CO2, CH4 or esp. N2. The oxidant is air. Total oxidn. of C3H6 to CO2 may be suppressed by adding an inhibitor, such as a chlorinated organic cpd., pref. 1,2-dichloroethane. The catalyst is a metal, esp. silver.</p>
