An access cover is provided comprising a composite core, and a resilient outer covering moulded onto the core. The access cover comprises an upper surface having a non-slip tread. The access cover comprises a 5 stepped lip at an edge of the access cover to overlap with a complimentary stepped lip of an adjacent access cover.
