An interference preventing gear prevents collision between gear teeth during engagement thereof by forming each tooth with a first portion 1b that defines a first crest and a second portion 1a that defines a second crest which extends further radially outwards than the first crest 1b, so that damage due to gear collision as well as malfunction of the respective equipment or apparatus can be prevented. The interference preventing gear may be used in communications equipment and electric apparatus.
