PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide screening methods for identifying modifiers capable of modulating chemosensory receptors and their ligands.SOLUTION: The present invention includes methods for identifying modifiers of chemosensory receptors and their ligands, e.g., by determining whether a test substance is suitable to interact with one or more interacting sites within the Venus flytrap domains of the chemosensory receptors, including identifying chemosensory receptors and modifiers capable of modulating the chemosensory receptors and their ligands.
