PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable determination of a touch operation to a touch panel in any of a situation where a ground potential of a portable information terminal is stable and a situation where the ground potential is unstable.SOLUTION: A portable information terminal includes: a capacitive touch panel 11 for detecting a touch operation; a connection state determination unit 51 for determining whether or not an external device is connected to an external terminal 15 as an external connection state d1; an acceleration sensor 52 for detecting acceleration; a carrying state determination unit 53 for determining whether or not the portable information terminal is carried by a user on the basis of the acceleration as a carrying state d2; and a sensitivity adjustment unit 54 for adjusting detection sensitivity of the touch panel 11 on the basis of the external connection state d1 and the carrying state d2. With this configuration, the stability of a ground potential can be estimated on the basis of the external connection state d1 and the carrying state d2, thereby adjusting the sensitivity of the touch panel 11. |
