PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shelf mounting structure in a storage furniture body, which secures a space for wiring behind a shelf and prevents the shelf from falling down by the effect of vertical motion, for example, in earthquakes.SOLUTION: The shelf mounting structure in a storage furniture body is designed for a shelf that is detachably attached across any two of the side walls and mullions of a storage furniture body. The side end surfaces of the shelf each have: a substantially-parallel engaging groove leading to a downwardly-open insertion guide therebehind, at either one of the front portion and the rear portion of the shelf; and a plurality of downwardly-open vertical grooves at the other portion of the shelf. The two of the side walls and mullions include inwardly-protruding first dowels to engage with the engaging grooves at predetermined positions, and inwardly-protruding second dowels to enter any of the vertical grooves. This structure allows the shelf of the storage furniture body to slide between a normal position at which the rear end surface of the shelf adjoins a rear wall of the storage furniture body and an open position at which the rear end surface is apart from the rear wall. |
